Security CCTV used to monitor policeman's behaviour

Security CCTV is being used to monitor the behaviour of a policeman in the West Midlands, it has been revealed.

The officer has had a camera fitted to his helmet after a number of complaints were made about the way in which he conducted himself, according to the Express and Star.

While it is unclear whether other officers have suffered the same fate, it has been revealed that numerous members of the force have received several public complaints.

In the past year, 117 officers in the force have been complained about more than three times.

West Midlands Police spokesman Jim Levack said that tests were a regular feature of the force.

He told the news provider: "We carry out robust and proactive checks every four weeks to identify officers who have received a disproportionate amount of complaints in a rolling 12 months."

Mr Levack went on to say that the number of officers who had received complaints was low relative to the size of the force and the nature of the job.
