Police trawl through footage from CCTV systems to find clues after suspected arson attack in Birmingham

cctv systems

West Midlands Police have been reviewing images caught on CCTV systems which may hold clues to a fire at a Birmingham van dealership. Fire fighters fought ten blazing vans in the forecourt of Commercial Services Van Centre, Erdington, from around 12.30pm on Christmas day.

Two fire crews from Erdington and one from Ward End attended. The fire crews brought the blaze under control by 2.25pm and no injuries were reported. Police cordoned off the area and had to stop traffic heading into the city on Tyburn Road, just after the junction with Wood Lane. Officers hope that CCTV systems may hold the clues to how the fire at the Commercial Services Van Centre started and have not rules out arson. A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said investigation teams and police were probing the cause of the fire.
