The company's reputation for developing high reliability solutions combined with its continuous development philosophy has led to the introduction of an innovative rugged mobile video recorder that responds to the operational needs of transportation operators.
The mobile DVR and NVR have been developed to operate in demanding environments, under a wide temperature range and extreme climate conditions, delivering high reliability and minimal maintenance. Their compact design and low power requirements enables it to be installed where earlier generation recorders cannot be considered. These next generations rugged mobile systems can be delivered with solid state memory and operate with either analogue camera inputs or to support the range of commercially available IP/megapixel network cameras, including 360 degree (fisheye) cameras. Shock mounts are available where required. An external Alarm/Indicator module can be connected to add Input and Output functionality. The mobile DVR and NVR range accommodates the very latest in video recording software and hardware processing technologies. Housed within a rugged, small footprint, mobile unit, it is designed to meet the demands of operating in environments, such as rail, road and water based vehicles, mobile observation stations and systems, as well as all applications requiring extra ruggedness and extreme climate conditions.

The mobile DVR is available with 4, 8 and 12 PAL or NTSC inputs, where image rates and resolutions are set as required up to full D1 on each input, allowing for a range of dynamically adaptable mobile DVRs, each with the ability to work independently or networked for increased capacity. Access and control is achieved via a laptop or host computer on the network. Video data can be processed using a choice of compression algorithms, including H.264 and MJ-PEG.
The mobile NVR accepts and records IP and 360 degree cameras concurrently. The standard product accepts up to 16 IP streams (subject to network performance and systems architecture), where image rates and resolutions are set as required. Video data can be processed using a choice of compression algorithms, including H.264, M-JPEG, MxPEG.
Each variant of mobile DVR and NVR can be configured with a range of options and accessories, including the capacity of each hard drive and any required access to the drives. Storage is maintained on internal hard drives, the capacity of which is tailored to customer requirements. A variety of interfaces are available including USB, RS232, RS422 and RS485; password-protected video storage can be accessed via Ethernet or USB.
These rugged mobile DVR and NVR utilise the Wavestore V5 video management software (VMS) providing a range of features and benefits that include low maintenance costs and low cost of ownership. The mobile DVR and NVR recorders can be used in conjunction with other Wavestore video servers to integrate coverage of any harsh or mobile environment areas into the networked surveillance system.
The powerful Wavestore Linux based remote client performs a simple drag and drop function enabling users to create unique multi-display preferences, whilst offering an extremely fast search facility providing almost instant review of recorded images from any incident. The video can be encrypted and authenticated if required. The mobile DVR and NVR recorders have also been designed to interface with many third party analytics tools using its highly developed SDK.Whatever your requirements for a rugged mobile DVR or NVR system are, the modular approach from Wavestore is available to provide any combination of high image rate recording, local and remote data management, remote live video monitoring and remote system maintenance.
