Integration Engineer

Wavestore’s ability to integrate technology from third-party manufacturers to create best-in-breed solutions is a core differentiation of its VMS platform.  Bringing together disparate devices and sub-systems from various manufactures onto a common platform can be complex but it is a key company goal to deliver this to the customer in an easy and effective way to make it simple for them to take advantage of the very latest technology and get the total solution that best fits their application and creates enhanced commercial value.

This role actively contributes to the development of new best-in-breed integrations with our technology partners products, from inception to completion, typically using APIs and SDKs as well as custom integration tools, to give maximum benefit and value to our customers. The role will also involve maintenance of existing integrations to ensure they work with new software releases from both Wavestore, technology partners and associated third parties.

Usability, reliability and robustness of integrations is key to their success and hence a major focus is to be the diligent and exhaustive testing of the individual interfaces and the overall system. Accurate feedback is then to be provided which facilitates any corrective action required and suggestions for improvement to ensure that customers experience problem-free installation and operation.

We want to be identified by our Partners as being the VMS that delivers the deepest and most useful integrations, as such it is vital that integrations are well planned, completed in a timely manner and documented completely in such a way that they can be marketed and implemented with minimal support.

You will be familiar with systems engineering and computer science principles, ideally educated to degree level in either Computer Science or a related field.

The ideal candidate will have some experience of:

·         Linux and Windows

·         IP networking

·         Developing scripts to automate tasks

A working knowledge of one or more of the following would also be beneficial:

·         Web Services

·         Internet Architecture

·         SQL

·         Software Development

·         Lua Scripting

·         C# .net

You will possess a basic understanding of electrical and electronics and be able to work safely and confidently with security system components and hardware. Knowledge of industry-standard communications protocols such as RS422/485, Ethernet or MODBUS would be desirable.

You must have good verbal and written English skills and be able to convert technical detail into something that is simple to understand.

Many integration projects will be running concurrently so it is vital that you are well organised and able to prioritise effectively, be truly multi-tasking and be able to keep a clear vision of the overall plan and deliver to it. It will also be necessary to be flexible to be able to react to changing priorities in a fast-moving and rapidly developing commercial environment.

Naturally, our people are the key to our success at Wavestore so if you enjoy working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with complete ownership of what you do then we could be the right company for you.
