HD and megapixel resolution security cameras have been the main trend with the more pixels the better. The Arecont Vision ranges include a 20 megapixel camera. However, video quality is dependent on factors other than the number of megapixels on the sensor, such as the lens and image processing. IMS Research forecasts that by 2015, more than 70% of all network camera shipments will be megapixel resolution. Whilst some manufacturers are unlikely to desist from releasing higher megapixel cameras, IMS believes that for the vast majority of manufacturers, there will be a renewed focus on image quality in 2012. http://www.wavestore.com/security-cctv-news/ims-research-predicts-more-emphasis-on-lens-technology/1379/ Wed, 11 Jan 2012 12:00:00 +0000 16:47:00 MESSOA have thanked those who visited them at IFSEC India last year MESSOA’s President Steve Yang said: “We would express our sincerest appreciation for your time and interest in MESSOA during the show. The state of Florida needed a camera which could capture clear traffic particulars, especially the license plate, car make and model as part of its security improvement project. State license plates pose challenges for traffic surveillance and they needed a high-performance camera capable of capturing traffic details given the limited viewpoint. The camera angle and positioning are critical factors determining the image quality when it comes to license plate recognition of rear number plates. http://www.wavestore.com/security-cctv-news/messoa-license-plate-recognition-cameras-keep-residential-community-in-miami-usa-safe/1376/ Wed, 11 Jan 2012 12:00:00 +0000 16:29:00 Police look for two men after a baseball bat attack outside Surrey nightclub Surrey police are looking for two men after a nasty baseball bat attack on a Guildford bouncer. Former city councillor Elsie Martlew said she was delighted that managers at Marks & Spencer had listened to customers and said she opposed the new automated tills on principle because they could cost jobs. She said many had become annoyed by the long queues which had built up since the tills were introduced – the result of having one queue for both sets of tills. The former councillor was so annoyed that last month she wrote to Marks & Spencer boss Marc Bolland. Now the high street chain has changed the system so there are separate queues for each type of till. http://www.wavestore.com/security-cctv-news/marks-and-spencer-changes-till-and-queue-management-system-after-carlisle-woman-campaign/1372/ Wed, 11 Jan 2012 12:00:00 +0000 16:16:00
